HVAC

No matter what kind of heating system you have in your house, you can save money and increase your comfort by properly maintaining and upgrading your equipment. It is important to note that an energy-efficient furnace alone will not have as great an impact on your energy bills as it would to use the whole-house approach and combining multiple system types. By combining proper equipment, proper maintenance and upgrades to insulation, air sealing, and thermostat settings, you can reduce your homes energy costs. Your Habitec home comfort specialist will be able to explain the many products we offer beyond HVAC to help make your home as energy efficient as possible.

HVAC TYPE

For homes that do not have existing ventilation infrastructure. Installation is simple and clean requiring no demolition to install.

For homes with existing ventilation ducts but is not equipped with a heat-pump one can be added to the existing infrastructure.

For homes with unfinished basements as central systems are the most efficient and offer the most consistent temperatures throughout the home. Typically uses less energy due to the multiple outlets all around the house.

For homes with existing central boilers and water radiators throughout the home. Works best when combined with ductless heat pump systems.

Heating your home uses more energy and costs more money than any other system in your house, typically it makes up 65% of your utility bill in Quebec.

Choosing the right system is the most important part of the process. At Habitec we want to be certain that your system will function at the highest capacity for as long as mechanically possible. To achieve this pinnacle of harmony, system sizing is the key ingredient. Whether we are installing a mini-split wall unit or a central unit our home comfort consultants will design a system layout and system size that will offer your home the best efficiency.

Many companies will simply offer the client exactly what they want with no questions asked. This is typically the worst-case scenario as most clients are not trained in airflow dynamics or how to properly size a system. Our home comfort consultants receive regular training from industry experts who help demystify much of the disinformation that is readily available on the internet. When preparing a system layout and sizing we consider how the cold air will travel in the summer and how the warm will travel in the winter. We will also consider which rooms receive the most sun, the age of the home, thickness and insulation type in the walls, type of ceiling insulation and even any renovation projects that may be on the books that could impact how a system runs.

At Habitec we pride ourselves on transparency and with some of the biggest brand names in the industry, like Gree, Bosch, Trane, GE, Samsung, Comfortmaker, Dettson (made in Quebec), Direct Air and many others, we don’t have to sell our clients on what they don’t want, but counsel them on what would perform best in their homes unique situation. When selecting our suppliers, it is not based only on name but also the availability of replacement parts. Our client’s comfort is paramount and forcing unnecessarily long delays in completing service calls due to a lack of available parts is not something that can be allowed to happen. All our suppliers specify that they will maintain part supplies for a minimum of 15 years, to properly support their product.

When choosing a Habitec installed system our clients are afforded the ultimate peace of mind, we back our work with an industry leading 10/10/10 warranty. Ten years on parts, ten years on the compressor and ten years on service. With no surprises our clients can rest easy while we deliver nothing but comfort.

With a multitude of financing options available, the difference between matching the perfect system to your home and having to make difficult budget related decisions, works out to a few dollars per month for most of our clients. It is always important to consider how much of your system can pay for itself based on energy savings; our home comfort consultants are able to offer an on-site assessment.
